SEPTEMBER MANAGER'S MESSAGE
Summer is really flying by! We hope you enjoyed time with friends and family over the Labor Day weekend. On Monday, the golf course will be open for tee times beginning at 8am. The Lakeside Grille will remain closed, however; we will have the Grill set up outside the Golf Shop with food and beverages available 11am – 4pm.
We are excited to announce our first Wine & Beer Festival Sunday, September 11th from 1pm – 5pm on the Grand Lawn of the Harbor Club. It will include wine, craft beers and ciders from 5 different local wineries & breweries. We will have live music from the Frank Solivan Duo and some amazing handhelds created by Chef Garth. To honor the lives lost on Patriot Day, all proceeds will be donated to local charities. Click here to purchase your tickets today!
After a few days of work on the golf course during greens aeration, play has picked back up again in September. We would like to congratulate our Ladies President’s Cup Champions, Becki Davis & Roberta Karch. Due to some intense rain, the men had to postpone their final match. We look forward to soon crowning our men champions as well from our pair of finalists, Steve Pendry & Drew Sites or Justin Dayney & Zach Delellis. Good luck to both teams!
The tennis courts get busy again in September with continued play in our Club Championship brackets. On Saturday, September 10th you can pick a partner and come out for our Fawn Lake Adult Open Doubles Tournament. This inaugural event is open to all adult members and Fawn Lake Residents. On Sunday, September 25th, we will host our annual Tennis Member-Guest Event. This is a great chance to team up with a friend or family member and showcase your club!
We are always looking to learn more about how we can help you get the most out of your club membership. To better understand the thoughts and feelings of the members of our growing club, we have partnered with an industry advisory group Club Benchmarking to administer a club wide membership survey this September. The survey will cover questions about all aspects of our club facilities and services as we hope to gain a broad perspective of ideas from our knowledgeable members. We hope to have the survey completed by as many adult members of our club as possible as our Board of Directors plans out a vision for the future of our club. Please be on the lookout for more information on this emailed survey in upcoming weeks.
I am excited to announce that we are making a step toward the future with our club’s IT systems. We have finalized an agreement to move to a new private club software system – NorthStar. This software offers new features for our members such as a mobile app for accessing the club with golf tee times, tennis court reservations, online sign up for golf & tennis lessons or club tournaments, online reservations for Harbor Club dining and club social events and even online food ordering. Don’t get too excited, we are still a few months away as this upgrade is planned for the beginning of December.
It is disappointing to point out that vandalism seems to be on the rise in our Fawn Lake community, and the club is getting its share of the damage. The prevalent target is to drive golf carts onto the course at night, purposely maneuvering the cart in a manner that causes damage to the grounds. Additionally, persons have chosen to use golf clubs or pin flags to intentionally damage greens. Fortunately, this is still a rare occurrence, but any activity of this kind is too much. There was a recent event on the green on hole # 2 on Friday night, September 2, at about 7 – 8 pm hour. If you or your family members have any information about this event or other such activity, please inform Fawn Lake security. Your vigilance will help reduce these episodes and hopefully prevent future ones.
Please let me know if we can do anything to help you better enjoy your club.
