Greetings, Fellow members,
The election process to fill open seats on the FLCC Board of Directors is now beginning. Terms for three Board Members will expire on December 31, 2022. These are Donald Pressley (Full Golf), Jim Bost (Full Golf), and Phil Basso (Social/Tennis.) In addition, Kristy McCormally (At-Large) has moved from Fawn Lake and resigned her position. The club will be voting for four Board members to take office on January 1, 2022. Three of these openings and seats will be for 3-year terms expiring on December 31, 2025. One will be to fill the remaining two years on Kristy McCormally’s term expiring on December 31, 2024. As provided in the By-Laws, a copy of which can be found on the “Member’s Page” of the Club website, www.fawnlakecc.com, a Nomination Committee is appointed “to nominate candidates for, and conduct the election of, new Board members.” In this capacity, the Nomination Committee is charged with soliciting “both oral and written nominations from Members of the Club entitled to vote.”
Board Member Phil Basso is Chair of the Nomination Committee. Board Member Keith Armstrong and Club Members Deborah McManus, Carol Gregory and Robin Long are also serving on the Nomination Committee. Please advise the Nomination Committee if you have any interest to serve. We encourage the written submission of nominations using the “Nomination Submission Form” which can be obtained from the “Forms” section of the “Members Page” of the FLCC website or click here for the Nomination Submission Form. Written submissions should be delivered to the Nomination Committee by email to [email protected] . Nominations are due no later than 12:00 noon, October 9, 2022. The Nomination Committee will announce its recommended slate to the Membership by Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
Anyone who is not included on the recommended slate will be placed on the ballot if the candidacy of that individual is supported by at least fifteen percent (15%) of the voting Members of the Club, who may file with the Secretary a petition bearing their signatures and the name of any eligible Member whom they desire to nominate. The Nomination Committee must receive such petitions by Tuesday, October 25. (Note: As of today, 15% of voting Members equals 116). Each membership number entitled to vote counts as one voting member.
Tuesday, November 1, 2022, a ballot will be made available to each voting member of the Club through a secure website link. The ballot must be completed using the instructions provided by the Nominating Committee no later than noon Tuesday, November 16. The newly elected Board members will begin their terms on January 1, 2023.
